Exact same thing, just different names.

Yes they are the same thing. Here in South Korea they don't call it a notebook. So many times people from different places call the same things different names. Hence the subway, tube, the L and so and so on.

same thing. laptop generally smaller and lighter, notebook more bulkier and more desktop replacement sort of thing.
