I don't know what season this was, but I just saw this on a rerun yesterday. They broke up during the town's 24 hour dance marathon episode. Rory was dancing with her mom while Dean was watching from the audience. Then Jess brought his trashy girlfriend into the place and kept making out with her infront of Rory. Rory kept getting distracted and disgusted by them. During a dance break, Rory and Dean went to get a sandwhich and Jess was there starting stuff with Dean. Afterwards when the couple went back to the dance floor, Dean started screaming at Rory infront of everyone. He said that he knew Rory liked Jess and Jess liked her. He was tired of pretending like nothing was going on between the two. He then said they were done and he was finished. Rory started crying, went outside and sat on a bridge. Jess came up, appologized and the two admitted that they liked each other. By the next episode, the two of them were a couple.

Rory went for Jess sometime during her high school years. I think that it might have been in the 2nd or 3rd season, but I am not 100% positive. I love Gilmore Girls!!!!!

they broke up in the first season because she wouldnt say i love you back to dean on their 3 month aniversary....then they got back together...and then in season 5 they had an affair which broke dean's marrige apart...(lindsey)...this was in season 4 or 5 then they broke up cuz emily and richard found out that she was dating him again and so they had this party thing where they invited all of their yalees and they were all guys and dean came to pick her up at 8:30 but there was a whole bunch of guys with her and then they broke up cuz he said that he didnt know why he was with her...its very interesting their relationship...

true they did break up in high school cuz she wouldnt have sex and some other stuff but they got back together when he was married i think they broke up again cuz he wanted to go back to his wife. im not sure tho or know what season
