don't be sitting here then asking such as question .... call your doctor's office with this concern .... if you do have an ectopic pregnancy, it is best to find out immediately so the tube doesn't burst! . . . they can confirm this thru a sonogram

I've read many times that severe shoulder pain can be one of the early symptoms of ectopic pregnancy. Of course you should call you're dr right away or go to the er and get an ultrasound done to be sure. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

As a physician I would be concerned about a secondary medical condition that you may have developed. This may include gall bladder disease or even heart disease (may also depend upon your age and other risk factors such as smoking or high blood pressure). I would recommend a thorough examination by your OB/GYN physician and if he/she is unable to ascertain the cause the pain, you may even want to consider being seen by your family practitioner or internist. Please don't let this pain go for too long before you are evaluated. Good luck with the pregnancy.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I had a lot of neck and shoulder tension. Sometimes the muscles can into knots and cause serious muscle pain.
