i have the utmost respect for syd barrett's legacy in music. i've been listening to floyd most of the day... "A Saucerful of Secrets" is a beautifully weird album. his solo work is very nice, too. he'll be missed. Shine on, you crazy diamond!

I don't really know. I have never heard any of the music Pink Floyd made while he was in the band. I can tell you that they've made some pretty good albums after he left. My personal favorite is Dark Side of the Moon. One of the greatest albums ever made.

He was a nut job, I'll say that but I think that those were Floyd's best rock years, that was when Floyd was truly psychadelic rock, none of this quiet slow crap that they produced later. Pitty they kicked him out and definitly a pity that he died. I think he should have tried to continue his music career even after Floyd.

He spent his last years living with his mother.....but anyway. Seemed to be a pretty normal one after leaving the band. But all I have to say.....The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, great stuff.

A true genius. Lived the last years of his life in a sanitarium. He'll be missed. Hell, he was missed since he "retired".
