When considering names for your baby you can check resources that list the most common names and lists of names and their meanings... I would suggest you refrain from using unusual spellings and that you find a name that is not to offbeat and not to common...
When my son was born all the boys had J for the first innitial...or so it seemed... Picking names is one of the funnest parts of pregnancy...so have fun with it and have a few gag names you would never really use too...
My moms joke name for me was Hortense Ustacia... everytime I conplained about being one of a million Debbies she would tell me to be grateful she hadn't saddled me with that one...

take your time...write down names you like... sound them out and consider how many sylables each name has, how they flow together, how hard or easy it will be for the child to learn to spell their name....can the name be shortened into a knickname?

try to avoid having the initials spell a 3 letter word... and also think about how the name could be toyed with by tainting peers... don't make it easy to be teased...
just use your best judgement and think about how your child would feel about the name.... you may think R2D2 is cute as a middle name since nobody will have to know ...but... official documents will include whatever you pick...
and have names for both sexes even if you want a girl over a boy... You might also want to do a bit of family geneology and trace your family tree... names from a few generations back are coming back into vogue and it would please the older members of the family too...
having a name ready by the time birth comes is a good thing to have since that is one of the first questions anyone will ask.
have fun playing with name combos...@>-,-'-,-'-- a rose for you while you ponder this most important question.

It's not bad to choose a name early, it's good to plan ahead.
Check out: www.babynames.com
You can choose a meaning for the name, like beauty or fire.
Your job should be part-time, but well paying, so you can afford things at short notice, like extra diapers and food.

I had my kids names picked out long before I had them...this was when I was younger though, and my preferences totally changed. :) When I was a late teen/early adult, I preferred the trendier/artsy fartsy names. Both of my boys have old, classic names. :) Doesn't hurt to start a list though.

ummm go buy a baby name book and wtf? you're having you're baby soon and you dont have a job? you are aware that the average parents spend roughly around 20,000-25,000 dollars in the first year of the childs life? you sound really unprepared and ignorant.... why would you even think of getting pregnant without a job?
