I don't think you should count what age you are. I'm 11 and I have long and well-explained answers. Some people think that I act like 14 sometimes. I think it sounds like "age-discrimination"...but you're right when it comes to sexual-related questions. And some people just count Yahoo Answers as something fun. At least, I do.

I think if you can answer questions thoughtfully and intelligently and give advice on subjects you know a lot about, it shouldn't matter how old you are. If a kid is asking a question about middle school, he probably wants to hear answers from younger people that can relate to him.

17 sounds reasonable.

any age. honestly i've seen people in their 50's on here act pretty stupid. so you can't really judge based on age how "mature" someone is going to be.
