It is indeed Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana off the In Utero album, I think this was one of their great songs, along with In Bloom.

Yeah sounds like Nirvana's heart shaped box. I was sad to hear the singer died, but I know for sure it was not suicide. R.I.P. What radio station was it? I doubt it would be D.C 101, because all Elliot plays is Pearl Jam and random bands.
