Yes, but with lots of practice you could become good at it. It is not the finger positions that are difficult, but the bowing is.

I played the violin in high school!! it's not the fiddle but similar. I made it as far as 3rd chair 1st violinist. My greatest accomplishment. I really do miss it.

Yes, because you have to concentrate on using the bow correctly, and not putting too much pressure on it. Then you also have to concentrate on the musical notes. I know someone who teaches or used to teach fiddle playing (violin playing). She tought her daughter whose a friend.

Actually, it's pretty easy to learn, you just have to take WAY good care of the instrument, and never under-rosen that bow...disaster in the making, believe me.

Actually it takes considerable skill so I would say it is hard, but it is harder to learn and once you do you can become quite skilled at it.

i play violin which is the same thing really, and it's not hard, but the longer you've been playing the easier and better it gets.
