After someone dies,people are lifted-up in status. Why?

Because they really weren't worth all the hoop-la that people attributed to them in life, and so people have to spend the rest of their lives justifying why they made such fools of themselves when these people were alive. The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Elvis Presley are but a few from my generation. Very intelligent question. Give yourself the 10 points for "Best Question" if their is such a thing. It's a "breath of fresh air" to find such a truly profound and insightful question here on Yahoo Answers. God Bless you.

This is actually the exception to the rule as most are forgotten, but when it does happen it is that their work was well received in some quarters and is now of a limited nature in that no more can be produced.

Things that are rare are not always valuable, but that which is already valued and becomes rare is priceless.

I think the young celebrities are made more famous after they die. For one thing it's shocking when a young person dies. And maybe people don't want them to be forgotten.

i think that it is a sense of guilt by the entertainment industry, because they keep giving fluff actors, video music stars awards and do not recognize the real talent so therefore they ease their guilty conscience by awarding them postumously. it is a stupid habit and i wish they would stop.

I think it's because death makes us realize that these famous people we once idolized are just that... people and I believe that realizing they are just people, or human beings, makes us appreciate them more.

i argee with the one above but only very little its not that we dont care about what they do its that its that once they die the ppl around them what to make sure everyone else knows how wonderful they were.

because they do drugs and because they just get tired of people following them and they wanna get rid of them selfs.
