It has been predicted that within 10-30 years (I know that's a large gap but that's what it said) that China will have the most powerful 'say' when it comes to global issues, replacing the USA in this position.

Today it was reported in AP(associated press) that China has stepped up to the plate and is leading a diplomatic resolution with N.Korea.

Two questions:
1. Do you think this is the beginning of that transition?
2. Do you think the Bush admin.'s failures with foreign affairs has escalated this transition... meaning a lot of countries have no faith in Bush's ability to be diplomatic so they are looking for a new global leader. Has this sped up China's ability to take over that world leadership position?

A big Yes to both questions.

I think the cover of Time Magazine put it quite bluntly proclaiming that cowboy diplomacy is dead.

The rights biggest fear of the white man not being in charge of the world is coming true. God doesn't seem to be coming to their rescue any time soon, so to them, this is the end of the world. All the more reason to just stand back and let the chips fall where they may.

Much easier than actually doing something about the future...

According to my calculations....which are about 3.5 years off.....a large catastrophe, like a meteor, will hit the earth suddenly awakening the people to their severe passivity and thus beginning the New World Order (China's getting a head start which is cool with us but we are all crossing our fingers that they will choose to learn English so we don't have to tell them that we really don't want to learn Chinese b/c it's hard and everything)

You are very perceptive. I think you have an excellent postulate.

Hopefully, our next President can reverse this trend and rebuild some of the bridges President Bush has burned.
