I would like to add that We don't eat in the room and I wash the covers weekly. I just got through rearranging the room and vacumming all over the window sills and baseboards.

Obviously if they have reached your bed, they are after something. If you haven't eaten in bed then they could be after a dead insect somewhere. First of all change the bed sheets and hoover the mattress. Check the corner of your bedroom door and other doors in the house . Get some raid powder and sprinkle near the corners and in one or two places near the edges of the wall underneath the carpet. It just needs a little. This will prevent them from coming again.

Perhaps check near windows or near cracks in the floor/wall. They could also be coming from other places in the house as well. Maybe call an exterminator or find the source and put ant killer around it..

Strip the bed; wash EVERYTHING in the hottest water the fabrics will stand. Vacuum the room thoroughly. Put ant traps in all four corners and on windowsills. DON'T EAT IN BED.

Place little bowles under each leg or roller of the bed filled with water, there will be no Ants ( perhaps a few incestious Uncles).
