Part- time employees are not eligible for any benefits. In any state in US. Why should they give it to you when you don't even bother to work full time there? Aren't you a bit selfish?

No, there is no law requiring an employer to pay health benefits. There are laws for employers who pay health benefits regarding how many employees get benefits. These laws are designed to prevent employers from providing tax-favored benefits to only highly-compensated individuals.

But the laws allow for some leeway. An employer can exclude some non-highly compensated employees. But the employer can't exclude too many. The actual calculations are pretty complex and probably wouldn't be obvious to the average employee. The IRS and the DOL are responsible for monitoring compliance with these laws. During an audit, the employer would have to prove compliance.

It is each individual employer's option to provide benefits to part-tiem workers. Most do not. The laws allow employers to exclude part-timers from the tests when determining if enough low-paid workers are covered, which makes it easy for them to exclude these workers from the benefit plans. But some employers do provide benefits to part-time workers.

no. since you're only there part of the time, there's no need to insure you or give you full benefits for any reason.
