I have a mini ipod, and for some reason I have to charge it for like 4 hours at a time, and then even on a "full" charge, it dies after about 30 minutes of use. I have a new video ipod and that thing runs for DAYS on a single charge.... What is up??

It might be a dud. Or maybe the battery is messed up or something. Have you tried taking it to a local Mac/Apple store?

My iPod has done this as well. Only I charge it for like 3 days and it will not be full. I am not sure, maybe a factory malfunction? I found, however, let it charge for an INSANE time ( maybe a week) and it might work. It helped mine. I tried to contact Apple, but they ignored me. I am not sure what else to do, I hope this might help a little...I also like to add that I had only had my mini for about 2 months when this happened. ONE of which was spent out of the country and without it...they just suck and I am switching brands entirely...

Sounds like it's worn out. Or you killed the battery's recharge memory, but rechargin it, too often. Same thing happens with cordless phones. But nobody will listen, nobody can resist puttin them onto the base. I sugges you get a new one, (or ask a friend to give you one for your bd, ) and ask for advice on how long to charge it. Then don't charge it more often, than recommended. Ipod or cordless phone, there is a recharging time limit and to keep doing it, kills the battery's memory.

i have taht problem too. the battery has been used to its extent and it wont hold a charge and u have to send it to apple for i think either 59 or 99 dollars unless you have the aple car eprotection plan. when u send it they will send u a new or refurbished one. ur settings and music will be deleted, but as soon as u plug it back into the computer, itunes will re load all ur music in ur librariy on to ur ipod.check out apple . com for more info on it

the minis are crap-scams. ALL of my friends who bought minis last year have the same problem so they all went and bought new video ipods.

meanwhile, i sit at home with my sony player that i've had for 3 years and it still works perfectly.

:)

turn the carry button on and off some circumstances. even as the carry button is wanting to off, carry the middle and MENU button. carry till the Apple icon looks on show. Wait a minute or 2. this may artwork. If not then call the Apple customer service. wish this helps!

ive had this problem with mine too. all that you have to do is find a good website that shows you how to replace the battery. new batteries are only about $25-$30.

It probably needs a new battery. And since the batterys can't be easily changed you'll need to take it to Circuit City or somewhere.
