Last time I checked rape and murder is illegal in the USA....frankly I could give a rats a** about the eastern people but in turn I support our troops and what they represent...terrorism has touched our soil, now our turn to violate theirs, but not innocent people..In Nam children under 12 were wired with grenades and used as human bombs to kill Americans..would you not kill them first if ya had the chance to?Terrorists reflect the same threat in my opinion..Its us or them..we have the ability to kick a** and we will and are!

Well, lets be real here - first off, we are not at war - Bush said the war was over when he landed on that aircraft carrier and lied to America... Secondly, even if we are at war, I dont think the civilian 15 year old girl that was raped and then killed along with her family was posing much of a threat to our boys there...and it was not necessary to rape of kill her. This was a despicable act, and they deserve to be prosecuted.
HOWEVER, I think that the Govt should also be held accountable in this case. This soldier was kicked out of the army for having a personality disorder. WTF is the Govt doing taking a 18 year old kid with a mental defect, giving him a rifle and teaching him how to kill, then sending him to a war zone where he will be shot at from all sides....and then THEY prosecute the kid for killing someone? If anything, this kid should be sent back to Iraq to be prosecuted by them. He doesnt deserve a poish american prison.

What you shouldn't do: rape women, torture and shoot civilians. You think that makes people good soldiers? Bad men don't become good men just because they're fighting for the right cause. If they're sadistic criminals, they deserve the worst that can happen to them. That way, all the decent, normal, humane, HONORABLE soldiers don't get lumped in with the trash that murders civilians.
You are supposed to be in a war to stop this from happening, not sinking down to the level of the garbage that you went to fight against.

There are things that you just dont do...war or not...if something of the sort has been done or is suspected then yes it should be investigated and if it is determined that such wrong doing occured then the person(s) guilty should face punishment...think about it, if a cop here at home shot someone when it wasn't called for he would face charges...its no different abroad....as far as the actions of the enemy; our soldeirs aren't prosecuted for killing the enemy

Rape , murder and the subsequent cover up is not only a crime its a court marshal offense .This woman and her family were civilians, she was was targeted at least a week before this crime was committed. It was planned by these marines and and after they raped her they killed her and her family. This is not war its rape and murder. . They should be turned over to that government for trial. They are a disgrace to their country and the marines. I didn't want it to be true either but it happened. They deserve to be prosecuted to the fullest and if they are found guilty they need to get whats coming to them just like here at home.. They must be held accountable. I love my country and I do not want this to be like what happened in Viet Nam. I remember ,do you ?

Sorry, but your are WRONG! That is NOT the law of the land!
Every Soldier, Sailor, Airman, and Marine has the rules of war -- specifically the Laws of Armed Confilct -- drummed into their head from day one of basic training and repeatedly throughout their military career.
As with any law, one breaks the law at their own peril. If it is proved in a court of law that they violated the law, they will be punished as provided for in the law.
It does not matter that the forces we face do not obey the law. We abide by the law and those among us who violate it shame all of us who server honorably; we will NOT tolerate them in our midst!

The moment you support troops killing and raping you dishonour the rest of these honourable men. Worse you give support and succour to the enemy. Who would not support the people who hunt down and punish rapists and murderers.
Forget the handful of criminals in the ranks and support all the great soldiers, sailors and airman out there who fight honestly and fairly for their country.

There are bad people everywhere including in our military.
When they commit crimes they are arrested, given a fair trial and punished accordingly.
I'm am extremely angry when some yahoo goes overseas and commits a crime because it makes the rest of us look bad. They should be punished all the more for that.

Torture and rape violate U.S. and international laws, including the Geneva Convention. In my opinion, Bush should be held accountable too for condoning these war crimes. He strongly opposed the anti-torture bill, and openly scoffed at it even after it was passed.
