If that pizza was delivered, I would at least tip $5 especially with the price of gas. A dollar was considerate if you were just ordering a take out.
15 % is just a number. It especially doesn't make sense if you sit at a table for hours, or if the bill is small.
I am just a little better than average tipper, and I don't make a lot of money, and support a family. But if I hit the lottery or had a really great week, everyone whom serves me here and there would get something extra. It is really a subjective thing, but a nice one.

Pizza delivery guys make very little, and sometimes get stuck if the pizza is bad, etc. My son is a delivery guy so I am always generous. I usually tip 30% because pizza is so cheap and they make so little.
In a restaurant I tip 15%, or 20% for exceptional service. Servers usually make about $2.50 an hour, so they have to make the minimum wage in tips per hour or they are behind. They still get taxed based on the minimum wage.

When I order pizza it comes to $15 and I just give the guy a $20, apparently that's generous. At resaurants I double the tax and that is between 15% and 20%. It all depends on the situation. I tip the waitress at the diner I frequent about 50% b/c it's cheap and she's so nice.

Pizza delivery drivers get minimum wage, plus gas money from the pizza places, so you can tip as much as you want to, it is upto you. When you go to the restaurants, waiter or waitress are NOT paid minimum wage, that is why you tip them 15-20% of your bill, depending upon their service and looks :-o)

1.00??????? you tipped him 1.00????????
i used to be a waitress...and here's what we expect. 20% is pretty much standard now a days. I considered anyone cheap if they tipped less than 20%.
for pizza delivery, (a family of 4, bill usually is like 18.00) i always tip NO LESS than 3.00. If it was speedy delivery they get 5.00.
as a customer whenever me and my husband go out to eat (usually at applebees where our bill is about 45.00), we usually tip around 13-15 bucks. but i am a former waitress and realize that they live solely on their tips, so i tip very well.
delievery drivers do not make any money hourly. they usually only get the delivery fee and a tip. THAT'S ALL THEY MAKE, SO REALIZE THAT NEXT TIME.
