sin (2x) = 2 sin (x) * cos (x). Thus sin (x) * cos (x) = 0.5 * sin (2x)

also expressing sinx in terms of cosx it can be cosx[1-(cos^2(x)]
expressing cosx in terms of sinx it can be sinx[1-(sin^2(x)]
