Chromium and dried fruit.
Gymnema sylvestre is herb which, when placed on the tongue, temporarily blocks the action of sweet receptors - it is a bizarre experience, sugar tastes like grit!
Take some when you are craving sweets and then even if you eat them, they will taste awful so you will stop at one!
It is also of benefit in diabetes but this is a complex mechanism......
Good Luck!

There is nothing wrong with eating sweet foods.
In many cultures the savory course is followed by a 'sweet'. Sugar is not bad for you. Starchy foods like bread, potatoes and pasta are not bad for you either. Some fats are essential in your diet.
Sugars, starches and fats are energy foods and if you eat more than your body needs it is not wasted but stored as adipose tissue (fat) beneath the skin.
If you have a normal, delicious, healthy, balanced diet you will include sweet things - but you must avoid over-doing it!

The Chinese government has banned many 'traditional' remedies. If you are still tempted then you should look here:

Not a suppressor as such ... chinese herbal medicine says the sweet flavour belongs to the spleen. They got lots of herbal prescriptions that can balance the spleen. Most herbal teas are disgusting to taste but some of the ones i have had have had a very sweet flavour to them that actually felt nourishing too (but still disgusting taste on the whole).

Chromium is really good for this, it's required by the body for blood sugar regulation, and it assists insulin in enabling cells in the body to take up glucose in the body for energy release.
I believe you can find it in larger amounts in foods like green peppers, but my mother and I both take it in capsule form as a way to help deal with sugar cravings that could see us eating high sugar foods which in turn would cause problems due to our having hypoglycemia (trust me it does make sense).
You can get capsules at most health stores, alongside diet aids - this isn't a diet aid per-say, but people do use it to help by reducing sugar cravings.

Don't buy sweets, so that there is nothing to feed your craving. If it is sugar you are craving, you may need it. Try fruit.
