Violin, for nine and a half years. I started playing it fo no reason other than I wanted to, but I keep it up because it...it's beautiful.
Favorite song I've learned is probably Bach's Air on the G String, or Elgar's Enigma Variations (learned in a symphony orchestra).

Other fun songs:
Ave Maria (Gounod)
Polish Dance (Can't remember)
Any of the unaccompanied sonatas (Bach)

I play guitar, piano, clarinet, and a little bit of the violin.

I like guitar the best, but I've only been playing for a few years. I think it's easier to express myself on the guitar because you can just play and play. My favorite song is a Sheryl Crow song called "Believe" or "I do Believe" (something like that?)

I play the trumpet. I have played the trumpet for 12 years because I enjoy it, although I don't get many chances to play it these days (work, school, other priorities, whiny neighbors). My favorite song to play is "No One Knows My Plan" by They Might Be Giants because I am so damn happy when I actually play it right!

*sigh*... let's get started.
oboe- since February, only about 4 notes for now, being my first woodwind instrument, played because I had a free music block at school

trumpet- since January, small range, but playable, learned during same free block

french horn- since January, can play but not read music, learned during free block

trombone- since August 2004, first brass instrument learned, over 2 octaves, my best band instrument

baritone horn- since winter 2005, same range as trombone, interchangable with trombone

tuba- since January, okay range, learned during same free block

guitar- since January 2003, mainly rhythm, learned during school music class and developed independently

mandolin- starting as soon as I get the instrument back from the shop, again, mainly chords

bass guitar- eventually stemmed from guitar practices, date unknown, played enough to get by

piano- fiddled around since even before 2000, still no formal training but plenty of practice

My favorite song is "Waltz for Zizi", a classical guitar solo by Yoko Kanno featured on "Cowboy Bebop".
