Honestly? Clean your room!!!

I mean CLEAN it.

Vacuum, scrub the carpet, empty the trash, and stop eating in your room. Dispose of ALL trash as soon as it becomes trash.(stop throwing it on the floor)

Wash your trash cans once a week with actual soap and warm water, and scrub brush!!!.

Yes, scrub it with your hands.Wear gloves if you need to.And use trash bags. Don't over fill them, leave room to seal them, then get them out of the house!!!!

Your habits of leaving food wrappers and such lay around for long periods of time are a beacon to all pests.

Good Luck.

Knats, fruit flies... they are attracted by fungus. Fungus is caused by moisture.

The flies lay eggs in the fungus or decay of dead mouse, dead rat, any piece of food that is left anywhere. The bad thing is, you are going to keep everything super clean and dry. Also, it will take some time to get rid of all of them, because a female lays about 300 eggs per laying and the life span is about 4 months. This will be a battle.

I know this because, I have been fighting them for a week... I am getting close to winning. I live in the country and burn our trash. Because of this I try to seperate the aluminum cans, metal cans, etc. for recycling. My problem was that I wasn't rinsing every vegetable or soup can before throwing it in the bin. Lesson learned.

do you have house plants??? we had little tiny flies that i thought were fruit flies but they were these flies that came in to our home in a pot of a new house plant. i ended up using a fruit and veggie pesticide religiously every other day for two weeks to get rid of them.
