from what I listen, new prisoners are called fish because they're an basic seize, which means that they are esily brought on to do issues that they doesn't do in the journey that they weren't in detention center. also they're given a bag of aspects called a fish kit and a held in an section called fish row.

They're probably referring to fish as "prey", since they are the ones still free in the ocean. Going out on a limb here, not even sure I understood what I just wrote! :D

because all the others are out to get them, so they go "fishing" and so they are bait for new boyfriend material, ya know? like they are all after the new ones, same with older guys and younger girls.

It's like a word for like newbies or freashmen. Because at my highschool they call the freashman fish.

fish means new meat. the people who were already there are called big fish or sharks. that means that they r more powereful then the new people.
