What do you mean by America? North America? South America?...learn to ask...and yes people in "America" did care about the world cup...that you or other people didn't....doesn't mean that no one does...

No. Americans like sports with scoring, not running up and down a field for 90 minutes to end in a 0 -0 tie.

I live in America and I cared. So yes.

Actually someone polled Americans and asked them if they cared and 78% no but that leave 22% who must've cared at least slightly, which is better then most sports here.

1.4% of American households tuned in to the first 3 matches and overall the TV audience grew by about 53% form 2002.

So the answer is: Not many people but many more are starting to get intersted.

I loooooove the game and was glad to find out about 100,000 people were at some stadium in Boston watching the Final game between Italy and France. People are getting used to it slowly but surely.

Except for the swarms of people glued to their televisions all over the world or crammed into Boston watching it on huge big screen TV's, practially stopping Boston in its tracks, the answer is a resounding no.
