Only when trying to be intimate or for a wedding...
I had to wear one for my wedding b/c of the way the dress was cut (open back). So...since the corset had straps on it, I decided to wear stockings w/ it....

They're great in the summer when you have to cover your legs at work because they're cooler than pantyhose.
