I am planning a trip to Vancouver on Via Rail Silver Class, but I want to be sure that the season is right for travel. What kind of weather can I expect should I travel in November?

I agree with Hillary - November mightn't be the best timeto travel.

obviously weather is less a concern in a train - but here on the coast, skies are pretty grey that time of year.. anytime from may thru september are great.. depends on what you wnat to do though it IS beautiful here year round (just in varying degrees). A cavet though, many find November to be THE most depressing month in Vancouver, lots of rain and grey skies.

Also you won't find a lot of dramatic chaging of the leaves out here - most of our trees are coniferous.. the decidous leaf changing is more of a "back east" thing...

In november it rains a lot. I'd say the temperature will be around 5 to 10 degrees, so not too cold. Raingear and sweaters are a must. I personally don't think that it is the best time to travel here, it's so grey that time of year, but if you are into skiing, then that's perfect timing. One of the best times to travel in my opinion.
Not too hot and not too cold.
You get to see the changing of the leaves in the eastern part of Canada, which is spectacular.
The kind of weather you will expect is cool with either rain or sun.
Bring a raincoat for sure, and a camera.
The east coast is interesting, the plains a bit boring with not much to see, and the best part is the west coast mountains with it's awesome views.
Well worth the trip, have fun!
