I should add, that I work out of my home... so there's no chance to meet people at work. Any ideas?

try joining a local toastmasters meeting there is allways something positive happening there. if that is no your cup of tea perhaps a local church of your faith or try doing some volunteer work . if you have children try joining the schooll board or do some type of charity work you will find the people that are in these organizations that i mentioned are dedicated goal oriented folks. you will definatly meet persons that are compatible with you and your husband and are morally and socaily driven

It depends on what kind of people you and your husband are. If you're outgoing types, hold a party at your house, and invite the block!
If that sounds like way too much stress for your work-laden life, go and get involved in a school's PTO or PTA. You're sure to meet plenty of agreeable fellows there!

Start by meeting your neighbors. Just walk up, say "Hi" with a smile, and offer your hand for a handshake. Tell them your name, and ask theirs. Ask questions about the neighborhood, or new city. That's usually a good conversation starter. Whatever you do, DON'T stay shut up in your own little world.

easy..join a church, knock on ur neighbor doors, community center, community projects, or a volutneer functions-homeless, clean up the city streets...etc..be urself i am postive this is not the first opportunity to make new friends...you know what to do...

go out, clubbing, join a club...do you guys have kids? meeting other parents is a great way to find some.
