why do guys like video games so much??? kids play video games, but grown men? why?

Men evolved to be hunters while women evolved to be gatherers. Video games link into that primate thrill of hunting or being hunted.

I personally don't enjoy video games very much.. for the following reasons:
1) I suck at them
2) my 5-yr old son beats my pants off every time, leaving me discouraged and feeling like a loser
3) I don't like shooting things
4) wife would kill me if I sat around playing video games ;_)
5) I'd rather be doing other things, researching, reading and working at my job
6) Yahoo Answers is a lot more interesting :-)

I am taking the guys side on this one. I am an adult and I still play video games because they are FUN!!

Its just a obsession like any other or it could simply be a hobby like anybody else. I hate video games. I despise them. I don't even play them for entertainment in my free time.

It's the boy inside the man. My husband (40 yrs old) plays PS2 all the time. There are worse things he could do!

Because it takes us back to those days when we didn't have anything to worry about.
Moreover, videogames allow us guys to spend some bonding time. You girls bond with conversations. Us guys bond through competition; in this case, through the medium of videogames.

ITS FUN YOU CAN RACE,BEAT UP, KILL AND BLOW UP STUFF WHICH YOU CAN NOT DO IN REAL LIFE, PLUS IT HELPS TO BOND WITH UR KIDS SOMETIMES
