* Disney's Aladdin -- "love conquers all" and that even the lowliest of humans in the social scale can save the day
* Independence Day -- whilst being fiercely pro-American, it's an example of mankind overcoming adversity
* Men in Black -- you want to visit Earth, we'll turn it into an airport
* Stargate (movie) -- an example of humanity's quest for freedom wherever they may live, as well as how one stone ring can change the life of so many people, and one alien... it could also be an example of our current way of thinking that extraterrestrial life is out there, regardless of whether they may be displaced humans... a rather humanity supremacist adventure
* Bill and Ted -- an example of what would happen if you let two retarded idiots use a time machine... party on dudes!
* Animal House -- an example of our partying side
* Bridget Jones' Diary - an example of equality, funnily enough -- we care about how modern females live (we have to have cared to have had a film made about it... think about it), especially a particular neurotic, stressed out, weird, bottle blond, fake-English weirdo.
* Matrix -- an example of how religion is in our psyche despite us being in a scientific age
* ET -- how can be children unprejudiced, regardless of appearance

Spartacus: Nothing like a good Heston film...
History of the World Parts I & II: Titles say it all
The Godfather: arguably the greatest film of all time
Close Encounters, Star Wars and ET: So they can see how they're perceived.
Annie Hall: Woody Allen's view of relationships.
North By Northwest: Gotta mix in some classic Hitchcock.
Point Break: Swayze, Reeves - my goodness, does it get any better....oh wait, it does
Roadhouse: now that's acting!

I would start off with The italian Job (Old version), then possibly Shreak 1, Deep throat, Snatch, Singing in the rain, Preditor, all of the alien films, and then all of the starwars films back to back, that should keep them happy for a couple of hours.

National Lampoon's anything! - To show them we have a sense of humour.
Whatever happened to Baby Jane? - To illustrate the evil man is capable of.
The Alien series - To show them what we imagined of them.
Christine - To show them even our cars fight back!
Billy Connolly's World Tour of: To confuse the hell out of them! (He confuses everyone else I know)
Phantom of the Opera - Just because!
Star Trek First Contact - If we can beat the Borg, we can beat anything!
