I didn't choose it but I have no problem with ppl who do choose it. It's each adult's individual right to decide what they want their sexual orientation to be.

Being gay or lesbian is a product of several factors: biology, the environment, and conscious choice.
There is some evidence that their are biological differences in the brains of homosexuals, and that some people are born with more of an attraction to the same sex than others. It is a biological tendency, but NOT an unchangable biological fact, such as skin color, that cannot be changed or ignored.
There is also some evidence that environment plays a factor in becoming a homosexual, as well as abuse or sexual deviance as a youth.
All of this considered, however, it is a conscious choice to embrace homosexuality and its incumbent identity and lifestyle. This choice can be based on a lot of factors, but one thing is certain. It isn't a choice that is forced on anyone due to biology or environment. We always have the power to choose.

Note: Notice how everyone who answers no to this question are gay. Of course if you're homosexual and living that way you're going to say that it wasn't your choice and that you were forced into it. No one ever wants to take responsibility for stupid choices.

Whether you are born gay or not is not the issue. The question was "do you CHOOSE to be gay"? I am not gay nor ever intend to choose to be gay.
Choosing to be gay, is being active in a gay relationship. Which is against God.
Choosing not to be, is not being active in a gay relationship. Is obeying God.
A person can be gay and choose not to be gay at the same time. :)

Of course I chose to be gay! It was so easy. I went to the CHOOSING TO BE GAY center where I learned all about making this choice. Everyone was so helpful and informative! I got all the facts and left with a ton of pamphlets. After a great deal of study (and asking a few folks who chose gay themselves), I decided to choose gay too! Everyone should do it! (Plus you get a free Madonna CD - excellent!)

No - why would a person choose that? It makes no logical sense. The people who say otherwise are just narrow-minded bigots who lack the intellectual capacity to accept things outside of their own limited view. Good news is that bigotry can be overcome with education. You could choose not to be a bigot for example much easier than I could choose not be gay.

They were taught to be gay by a liberal society that gave freedom of choice, and expression. Many gays claim that they were born gay, but that is like saying I was born a racist, or born a pimp. Being gay is like the hippies of the 60's lashing out at their parents for years of abuse and bad treatment. Some gays are products of Psychological and abusive mistreatment. Means they were sexually abused and became gay as a result.
In my book it is nothing more than a Fad or a social group.

My personal opinion is that you are not born gay or bisexual. i believe that at one point in life curiosity sets in and you have a choice to act on them. some do and some don't. i also believe that some have been hurt so many times by the opposite sex that they choose to go to those of the same gender because they came there is better understanding of emotions and interest.

No, I didn't wake up some morning and have a great epiphany "HOLY CRAP! I'm gay...."

It is not a conscious choice, believe me. You don't know why you like the same sex, you just DO.

Ask yourself if you honestly think homosexuals would chose the gay life...hard, full of obstacles, self-doubt, hatred, intolerance. It would be much easier to go the str8 and narrow.

But we don't, because we can't.

I'm gay and i definately didn't "choose" to be this way. Many people had bad experiences in life and led them that way and many were born gay.

Oh look, another question that has been asked and answered about a thousand times. This person could have looked it up in the discover area or typed it into the "search for question" blank, but no, they wanted to repost it to get a reaction.
