i have been asked this question: do you enjoy reading lists, dictionary, phone books
can anybody tell me what's the pourpose of such a question?

This is job related: They want to know if you're the sort of person that can pay attention to details and be happy in the job. It can also point to a personality attribute: i.e., that you are okay in seeking out advice or information from sources outside yourself. Your familiarity with various reference materials speaks to this.

This question is asked to see if you are a good reader and organized. Did you know that applications are used to screen you out, not screen you in to an interview? That is why it is so important to follow all the directions and answer all the questions!

The employer is probably looking to see if you're detail-oriented. It takes some time to go over a list and follow it exactly.
