The schools aren't supposed to teach any kind of sex ed because it might give the young, innocent children ideas! And after learning about syphilis when you don't use a condom, they might rush out and experiment!
I was actually taught sex ed because even though we were only supposed to learn about abstinence (as my state is abstinence education only), my city/county has such a high record for teen births that the government decided we needed to learn how to protect ourselves since our parents weren't doing the job.

sex ed should NOT start at home. would you like your parents talking about the penis and vagina, etc., telling you how you were made. it would be disgusting. you would have to be a freak to enjoy that talk. people should just hear the truth and nothing but the truth in health class, where in a few years the people you took the class with will never see you again, so no more akwardness.

Of course there is. Just turn on the TV or go to the movies,
it is a must to have sex in early youth , you may have extramarital relations and if you are discovered you get divorced and you start it all over again. You have Sex as 40 years ago you kissed someone.

Nope. No sex education except what our religious leaders tell us. Like the Pope saying that condoms are evil and do not prevent the spread of disease - only abstinence works!
Freakin kooks.... It is scary, isnt it?? Sad part is, its those morons that are the only ones actually getting pregnant and repopulating earth.....

Sex education should start at home. Parents should educate their children about the issue.
Schools are not doing a well enough job apparently.
Should start at home and be reinforced by the school.

There is sex ed in our schools here.
Unfortunately, most of the students who took the classes think of it as nothing more than a joke... and when pregnancy happens, they don't understand what caused it because they never bothered to pay attention.

Yeah, sometimes there is. But it's not that good sometimes. The one class we took last year sucked. They just said that you got AIDS from risky behavior and told you not to have sex until after you got married. Then they gave us aftershave and face wash. Yeah, fat lot of help that will do the idiots I got to school with.

there's too much sex education in the states... and if not sex education too much exposure to sexual actions or things. And I beleive they start teaching that in 6th grade to get young ones ready for puberty.

Ha ha. That's a good point. Or worse, why are they all asking these questions on yahoo answers instead of their mommies and daddies or their health professionals?
