Here are some tips from eHow, a great place for answers on this kind of stuff. I'm assuming the pan is stainless steel? If not, just go to the site and type in the kind of pan it is instead and it will help you. If it is stainless steel and you can't find the stuff they are talking about, I use a scratchless stainless steel cleaner that I got in my grocery store, make a paste of it on my scrubbie sponge after soaking the pot, and just have at it. Works great & shines it to boot!

I assume the pan is stainless steel. Try Comet powdered cleanser and a "green pad" (or the rough side of a dishwashing sponge). This requires a bit of scrubbing, but the pan will shine. The non-scrubbing option is to spray on over cleaner (in a well-ventilated area or outside) and wipe off after half and hour or so (follow instructions on can of oven cleaner for cleaning cold oven).

wet the pan. Pour some baking powder on and let sit. If you are in a hurry then put the pan over a flame and bring to a boil this will speed it up but I don't usually boil it because I tend to forget that its on the flame. Let sit overnight in the morning it will scrape right off. The baking soda softens the burned food and comes right off.

Depends on what the pan is made of. Mine are stainless steel. I burned a pot and used two things made by Amway; Scrub Buds and LOC Plus Soft Cleanser. The cleanser squirts on and the scrub buds are stainless too. A combination of those and some elbow grease did the trick.

Try some baking soda and elbow grease.
Orange oil works with out scratching the pan. Or, if you care to use Dawn Degreaser. It works wonders on stubborn burned on gunk.

Add enough baking soda to the bottom to cover all the burned parts. Then add hot water and let it soak overnight.
If that doesn't work, you can add vinegar instead of water. But look out - it foams! Let that soak overnight, and you'll be all set.

SOS pad. Those blue soap steel wool pads that you use to clean things. You may need to scrub it for a while before it comes off. Don't forget to get the SOS pad wet first.
