Because they have been playing in international tournaments since before Christ was born and they pulled dibs on the the classic black and white combination...

For years they have been simply black and white... at least this year there was some red swishes and stuff.... I have the presentation suit of the German team from 2006 and its SWEET... you can really tell Mercedes Benz sponsors them....

and the SS uniforms were solid black with red accents unless your talking their fatigues which look like all other fatigues...

Don't know why, but...
-they have had red and yellow accents in their unfirom many times before.
-The SS (non-camo)uniform never had any red or white in it at all. It had silver piping which looks white in black and white photos.
-The Germans would NEVER associate themselves with the old black, white, and red flag. That flag died in 1945 and has too many ties to world aggression (yes, it was their flag 50 years before the nazis, but they want to look ahead to the post-war Germany)

Actually, in earlier models they had white, black, red and yellow. A lot of countries have a white uniform. Very neutral color. Its more desing than statement.

Think it goes back to the old German flag colours, which were black white and red. Stuck ever since...just guessing though.
