I am mixed with Black and white. I have blonde hair and light skin. Black women give me dirty looks as soon as they see me without regard to who I am inside. They go out of their way to give me attitude. What is the problem?

I am adding more detail so that I can receive clearer answers. I appreciate those that I have gotten so far. I do not think that I am better than anybody else. I always treat people like I would want to be treated. I give no one any reason at all to throw me hateful glares or attitude. I do not deserve that and either does anyone else. Least important is my looks, but what else could it be if I haven't even spoken to the person yet? Hmmm. I am 5'3", 140 lbs., in great shape due to working out, have long blonde hair, very light skin, and dark brown eyes. Now you all have more detail to work with. I hope this helps. Thank you!

Well, sweetie I am a black woman and I would not do that to you because I have a mixed first cousin and I don't treat her that way. The only reason I can think is that most of us feel betrayed by black men who overlook us for white women. But that does not excuse black women for treated you bad after all you had nothing to do with that. Only thing I can say is try not to take it personally and remember all of us are not like that. Keep you head up!

Sweetie give them dirty looks & attitude right back because those "Black women" are just as mixed as you! Of course there is racism with in our Race lightskinned vs. darkskinned so be a a big girl, suck it up and deal, like all other African Americans!

Also don't assume it's your looks from the discription you gave you dont's sound unique looking at all, check your hair, clothing, and face to see if something is out of place, If thats not it, you may want to seek psychological assistance for delusions of granduer.

Well one thing that I as a female notice is why do women do so much to them self, the out ,or scares hairdo's, the color or off the wall. I'm not color hating in a way, but if it don't look good, what you want PEOPLE to to do DONT LOOK. It not racial because some people look like what the Hell it that person problem. The true is some people just scare me , because they look CRAZY, take a look in the mirror an ask, it that color right for you.

Here we go again :)

Okay hon, you can't generalize all black women into this category! If I saw you on the street, I wouldn't even give a second look (from how you described you look) because I honestly wouldn't care! I have never given evil looks to strangers for no reason at all, I think that's stupid :)

Now, if some black women give you evil looks, perhaps it has nothing to do with you, but with their own negative personalities (and if they're giving you evil looks hon, they're doing it to other women too - black, white, etc...)

I have the same problem. The darker girls at school are mean to me. They'll say:
"You don't deserve to be black."
"You biracial nerd."
"White girl."

I am very light, and I don't like to do the stereotypical "African-American" things that they expect me to do. I mean, they like to do that stuff. They purposely start trouble because their black and they can do it. Same with their grades, they get bad ones because they say their black and that's what black people do. I like getting good grades, I've had an A average since kindergarten, and they make fun of that. I don't have a blemish on my record, I never got detention or reprimanded, and they make fun of that. I don't understand it.

They're the same way to some white girls and to the other light-skinned girls. I know not all of them are that way, but some of them are. Like the ones at my school.

It goes both ways. Some mixed women seem to think they are better than Black women just because they are mixed with so called "good" hair. Notice I said "some" mixed women. Not all Black women are hateful; some of us are proud of what God made us and feel no need to feel inferior to you.

Maybe you feel as if you have something over or under someone(in this case black women) b/c you are mixed and you project that in any situation with them.

If someone is looking at them they will think "oh their looking at me like they don't like me" when really they weren't at all.
People are good at turning a situation into something it wasn't, to conform how THEY feel or make themseleves feel better about themseleves. Its a lot of people who themseleves are brainwashed to believe that all b/c they are mixed they look better(when they really don't ). They bought into the lies and that everyone is "hating on them" when they really aren't- when its really not them its YOU. I guess its strokes to their ego they made up.
Get it?

btw you obbessed about being mixed... even look at your screename. Let is go, its just a racial backround. Don't make it who YOU are.

I feel your pain, I am also mixed. But, I wouldn't generalize all Black Women. There are some ignorant people out there, but not all are bad

If that is the true reason they are giving you dirty looks then it's just another form of racism and don't pay attention to it. Sometimes people dont' want to care about who you are inside, they just want to hate b/c it makes them feel more secure about themselves to think that your beneath them. But you know you're not so screw 'em.
