Wow!! What have you started!! Attacking Little League is like attacking motherhood and apple pie. However, you are right!! We organize kids into leagues in baseball, hockey, soccer, and basketball. We have them play a set schedule all outfitted in uniforms paid for by "sponsors." Then we honor them at banquets whether they are 20 and 0 or 0 and 20, complete with trophies stressing that winning is not at all important. Is it any wonder that by the time kids reach high school they are all played out? As a former teacher and high school principal, I can tell you that MANY talented athletes stop playing their sport when they reach high school because they see the hypocrisy of Little League and its counterparts. They are all played out. It's a real shame.

As a kid, I played baseball every day of my life from April to October. A group of us would meet at the park every day, buck up sides, and play our hearts out. No adults screaming at us, no umpires making bad calls, no organization telling us what to do and how to do it!! We had FUN!! Today that is lost because of well intentioned adults who just have to "organize" kids.

Have to call them as I see them.
