I am away on holiday for ten days previously and returning on his birthday (9th August). So I need to organise something in advance. I'm no good at the whole presents for guys things never really have been. So any ideas at all?

Take him out to a good restaurant...spend time with him at local park (like a luncheon)...make sure you cover the little things: birthday cake, card, lovin, present that you think he will not only enjoy but also use (like a tool). There's nothin' more satisfying that a boyfriend or girlfriend can give to their significant other than time. Make sure to find the time.

Hey girl just get him a c.d. or a video game if he has a game system, order some take out and decorate it with birthday candles, sure it sounds cheesy and corny but some times it's good to have a laugh on your birthday, also don't go broke planning a huge party, some guys just want to be with the person that they care about on there birthday. Oh yeah make a card rather than buying one, that way you save money for a better present or nicer decorations.

I think you should tell him that you're coming home later than you really are, preferably at least a 5 hour difference. Find out where he's going to be when you come home that way you can be there to suprise him. Maybe that'll be gift enough for him.

I recently read an article on "what guys like", one I read sounds perfect. You could send him a singing telegram to deliver a letter at work.
the letter will be a diagram of your body and what you want him to do to each one....
This guy said it was awesome!!

do something thst he likes to do. I took my boyfriend to see Kobe play and he loved it. But the tickets were expensive. It set me back for a bit but you have to sacrifice.

get a hotel room and tell him to go in....hide somewhere outside....tell him to blind fold himself and wear something sexy...kiss him with it on...or do a strip dance with his presents on...like a shirt or tie...stay in the room all day...its more exciting then it sounds ;-)

i bought oasis/jet tickets for my boyfriend and he LOVED it! but for our anniversary, im organizing a helicopter ride over san diego and a romantic candle-lit dinner for us at petco park! depends on how long yall been together.
