Have you tried instant grits?

When I lived in South Carolina, my neighbor taught me how to rid the yard of fire ants without using poisons. I would sprinkle a ring of instant grits around the hill and when they ate the grits, the grits would swell and kill the ants.

I've used it with great success to get rid of noisy crickets.

Another great and safe trick is to sprinkle borax around the doors, windows and openings into your home. Borax is a desiccant or drying agent. As the crickets walk through it , it clings to their legs and when they lick it, it is absorbed and will literally dry them up. Borax is relatively cheap and can be found in the laundry detergent section where they sell baby clothing soap...it is called Borateam.

Good luck..

crickets are stupid.
Provide them with adequate water dish and they will drown themselves.
we breed them for bearded dragon food
really place a container of water about four or five inches deep with about two inches of water in it. They will jump in and they will stay there until you come and get them out, so don't.
Remove all other water sources and you've done the hard part. Seal the basement spray around the outside of the house, you don't want the poison in the house no matter how annoying the crickets are.

Why not catch them instead of killing them, and you could sell them to fishermen, or people who keep snakes or lizards as pets (or Oscars. Oscars LOVE crickets!).

You can make a trap out of a cardboard box with a small hole in the lid they can crawl into but cannot jump out of. You can "bait" you trap with a mixture of dry cat-food and milk-powder.

Happy hunting!
