if your friend gave you a game for your birthday but you never got around to using it so now it sits on the self unused, gathering dust. your friend is now over and sees the game. You had lied and said that you played the game and enjoyed it. Now your friend wants to play it with you, only one problem, you have no clue how to play. You:

a) tell him/her the truth finally, that you never played the game
b) make up a new set of rules that sound convincing enough
c) you destract your friend and go to a different room, pretending you didnt hear the suggestion
d) "Who wants to go swimming??"
e) just say no
f) something else....

It's either a or e.Maybe it would be the best to admit your friend that you did't want to hurt his feelings and that lately you didn't have much time for playing games, but that you would absolutely love the two of you to learn the rules and play!

Tell them the instructions were written in a foreign language and you could not find anybody who knew how to play.

i would just make up a new set of rules that sound convincing enough or just throw her in the pool!
