It's very hot where I live. I'm overweight and I have this rash in the creases between my legs. It's getting to the point where it hurts to walk and to work. What is the best cream I can get for it and will powder work as well?

I would apply Gold Bond Ultimate. (it smells nice, not like medicine) It is pricey (about $6 a bottle) but it works really well to avoid the rash which is called "chafing". Are you wearing light breathable clothing as well? I found it is hard to wear skirts without reapplying the powder often. I wouldn't use a cream or lotion because that would only irritate it...

If the rash is just between your legs then your should use something to keep the moisture away and stop the rubbing.
I would suggest you try a baby powder with cornstarch in it. It will keep away the moisture that is causing the chaffing and it provides a smooth surface for the skin to slide against. You can get the powder in the little plastic cans, and they're small enough
to carry in your purse or pocket, and you can apply it whenever you need it. You can apply it to any other creases that are affected. Jsut be carefull not to apply to much of it in those 'private' parts.

Neosporin with the Pain reducer till it heals and the redness is gone, then use a perfume FREE powder like Gold Bond or Corn Starch Powders and a powder puff to apply it. Keep the area clean and dry and use the powder several times a day. Stick to Cotton Pants if you can. If there is a very bad Oder after cleansing and using the neosporin on Day two you may have a infection in the area. This is common with anyone who lives in Hot Humid areas whether they are thin or not. Do not let others shame you for what is happening here.
I have friends who have this issue and both agree this is what works best for them, Good luck.
If you don't see results after 2-3 days I would see your Physician.

Baby powder is the best thing to try. Make sure the area is very dry and clean. Put powder on it. If that doesn't do the trick you probably have a yeast infection in the creases. Go to the doctor, get some nystop powder, that is perscription strength.

Get yourself some of these shorts to wear under your dresses or under your clothes so you don't rub together and chafe.

Powder is always a better bet over any type of cream.

I would strongly suggest you consider a lifestyle change, perhaps join Weight Watchers and learn how to eat properly, if you continue to be overweight there will be serious health complications down the road not to mention the fact that it's not fun to always have to shop in the very limited "fat lady" section of the stores when there are so many cute things under Size 14.

Good luck hon!

It may be a skin condition, sort of like jock itch that men get. Sponge frequently with mild soap and water and rinse well. After drying use something like Monostat cream or even Bactine.

Monostat makes a gel that is supposed to stop chaffing, but I wouldn't use that unless the soreness has healed up. Powder products can just trap moisture and make it worse.

If it's really bad, check with your doctor.

first of all you should be concern with the fact that you are over weight. the rash between your legs are caused by bacteria that accumulates there due to sweat. you should try washing yourself alot more often with antibacterial soap. creams and powder would not work, they would just form a mass between the legs. just regular washing with bacterial soap and keep those areas dry from sweat would help. take charge of that overweight, it is most important. good luck.

Try Gold Bond. The anti itch cream is thick and it works on itching. So it will probably work in your case. It smells a little like icey hot type stuff but it works.

Gold Bond powder works pretty good, although it smells. I've had a lot better luck with corn starch, and it doesn't have any smell.

Damn,,, you need to lose weight. You need to shower daily at least 3 times a day and put powder TONS of it. You should also consider getting one of those licra(sp) kinda shorts so it can hjelp with the rubbing of your legs.
