Tomato cracking is usually caused by fluctuations in the moisture level of the soil. If, for example, you let the soil stay dry for a few too many days, then try to "make up for it" by giving them a really good watering, sometimes this will result in cracking. Try to establish a regular irrigation schedule for your tomatoes, and stick with it -- especially when the weather is very hot.

Basically what happens is the inside of the tomatoes "plumps up" and expands faster than the outside skin can keep up with it. It's happened to me and is quite messy and ugly. You can still eat the cracked tomatoes, but you have to do it quickly, because they'll spoil and/or get moldy much faster.

cracking tomatoes are from a fluxuating water supply. Water consistently so they don't crack.

Its in all probability too late now. i think of that's brought about by way of the toms drying out slightly, by using loss of watering. One they dry slightly the floor looks to harden. better watering motives them to swell and chop up. greater powerful off identifying on them now and revel in!
