I only had one child and that was over 30 years ago but don't remember anything like that. Call your Dr. office and tell them what is going on. You don't want to take any risks with the baby. This is an addition as I just found this web site about pains.-- Braxton-Hicks Contractions
When your uterus starts practicing and preparing for labor (as early as the second trimester), you may experience some discomfort, as your uterus briefly tightens and relaxes. They are typically mild and painless and may quiet down if you change positions. Unlike real labor contractions, Braxton-Hicks will subside. You may want to try relaxing, by soaking in a warm bath or by taking a nap. If they start coming at regular intervals, are accompanied by back pain or become painful, contact your doctor or midwife.

It could. With my first child I got cramping around 16 weeks and actually my mom was worried and took me to have a sono where they told me everything was fine and it was stretching I was feeling.
I'm pregnant with my second (10 weeks) and I've had cramps everyday since about 4.5 weeks. I had some spotting to in the beginning so they did a sonogram at 5 weeks.I've been to the drs, and I'm going for another sono tomorrow because they couldn't find the baby's heartbeat, although it's still early, but just to be sure because I still get a lot of cramps. My dr told me that usually they are not concerned unless the cramps are accompanied by bleeding. Call your dr if you're really that worried. Better to be safe then sorry.

I had terrible pains in my belly and sides from the very beginning. I had the pains that run down your sides and under the belly. It was completely normal for me, however I would call your doctor to be sure, its always better to be safe than sorry.

I thought the pains were normal, because I have them too...I'm not sure if they are related to this or not, but I just got my blood work back and some of the tests were abnormal...make sure to go to a Dr., it's very Important! They will know what to do, and what is causing them.

Most pregnant women don't have pain early in the pregnancy unless there is a problem. Everyone is different but my best answer would be to consult with your physician.

you're always safest asking your doctor. When it comes to you and your baby's health..no question is stupid or pointless. The old adage still exists: "Better Safe than Sorry." Good luck and congrats on your baby!

I would lay on your left side and kinda prop your feet up and drink some water. While doing all of that, I would call my dr if i were you.
