Mommy and Mommy figured you didn't need a Dad were going to raise you. That would suck, no pops around to play ball with and do dad stuff with. Moms can do it, but not like dad. Some one will back me on that. It is a stat somewhere that kids that grow up in this enviornment aren't as stable as kids in the Typical Nuclear family. Hey I had a Dead Beat Mom and Dad raised us alone I always knew I had a mother, but to tell a kid you have no Father or you have no mother and for the child to find out you did it on purpose to satisfy your sexual desire. Thats jacked up any way you look at it, I'd be pissed as a teenager to find out I have no Dad. My kids wont have a Gran- dad. That would be one reason I don't support Gay Marriage. No bible thumpn here. Just disagree. I know I'm get all you supporters fired up. Thats cool, just keep it clean.

I understand if you take some kid in and all but to create the situation to where a kid doesn't have the oppo sex to look to or learn from is what I'm getting at. Thats messed up.

Love is love. If I had two loving parents who took care of me properly, I wouldn't be too bent out of shape about it, honestly. There isn't any one formula for a perfect life or family.

As for bringing gay marriage into this, it isn't clear what that really has to do with it. The situation you are imagining is just as likely to happen whether or not the government formally recognizes the relationship. This gets lost all too often in discussions of same-sex marriage. It isn't like there are a lot of gay couples out there who want to adopt a child but are saying, "Oh crap. We aren't married. We can't. Oh well.", or gay individuals saying, "I'd like to spend the rest of my life with you, but we can't get married, so I guess I'll just have to marry someone of the other gender. What a bummer."

Hmm, as a single mom raising 3 sons on my own, with no help. I just want to let you know that sometimes there are parents who sometimes and choose not to be a parent anymore, and thats what i had to deal with the father decided that instead of throwing ball with his boys, he rather be chasing down women instead i guess thats more fun. So when a parent regarding whatever kinda relationship they are in. care for you should be most important, unfortunately we all can't the best upbringings , liek the brady bunch, or my three sons, just appreciate it, and if only moms play with you it's better then no one playing with you.

I agree with you. Women are different from men and you do need the influence of both to learn how to deal with society. My Dad was the biggest factor for what kind of man I wanted to marry when I grew up. I dated a lot of guys who were really bad people, and I might have married one had I not had the example of what a male should be in my Dad.

Kids adjust more than you think. There is a lady I work with and she and her partner (female) raised a son. He is wonderful, just went to college this year. He knows the whole story and you couldn't ask for a better guy. Plays lacrosse and runs track, has lots of girlfriends and friends in general. Very well adjusted.

It is about how much you are loved, not about who loves you.

So, if they want a kid they're supposed to be with someone of the oposite sex? Even if that makes them miserable? What is your hang-up with gay people?
Oh, and to the first person that answered this question, that is not how serial killers are formed. I have done a lot of research on that and you're way off. It's more people that grew up thinking their mom was their sister and their grandma was their mom.

Yeah I wonder what really is the draw back to such a lifestyle..I know many substitute the missing figure with friends of theirs but its not the same...even if they had an opinion how would a child know what they missed? I personally don't judge same sex partnerships...but having kids does make one wonder.

Kids who are raised by gay parents don't usually turn out as homophobic as you, so they don't react as you would.

(P.S. you do know that gay people all over the ntion are raising kids even without being legally married, right? They don't confiscate your reproductive organs when you come out of the closet, so lots and lots of gay people have kids. And studies have shown that those kids are just as stable as the kids of hetero relationships.)

I wouldn't mind, actually. I know that somewhere along the line, I have a dad, because it takes sperm and egg to create me. The only thing I care about is if they gave me all the love and attention they possibly could.
