New England won 3 super bowls in 4 years...so they WERE the best team...but just because the Steelers won one superbowl now, doesn't make them the best team. They beat Denver last time...but it wont happen again.
And you have to think about the Steelers a little differently. I think a lot of the team wanted to get Bettis a super bowl ring...because he really deserved that...without him...the teams gonna need more talent...but that's just my theory...
And how can you compare the Panthers to the Steelers yet?...they play this season...we will see then who is the better team. Now I admit, my Panthers aren't perfect...they still have to prove they are...but on paper..they look a lot better than the Steelers do...thats why the "experts" are saying what they are...

Tom Brady and the Patriots have won 3 Superbowls in 4 years. I am a Rams fan so it is tough for me to take up for them. I have felt the heart break first hand. If Tom Brady retired tomorrow he'd still go to the Hall of Fame. With the salary cap in place you don't shouldn't see championships like that. I am not a Patriots fan but you dispute what they have accomplished; they still have their head coach and a good core of players so who knows. They may be overrated for future predictions but you can't argue with the rings.
PS I hope they don't make it to the playoffs again... ever

The Patriots will be good, but it will only be because they have the best coach in all of football. The Steelers are going suck this year because Big Ben wont ever be the same player again after his little crash, and Randle EL does not suck he had the big play ability that Heinz Ward does not have.

The Patriots are the luckiest team ever. They won their first super bowl on a stupid tuck rule. The second on a kick out of bounds by Carolina's kicker to put them in great field position. Finally, they got the luck turned against them vs. Denver. and you can thank Mo Lewis. If it wasn't for his hit on Drew Bledsoe, Tom Brady would've never played.

they had a nice little dynasty there, i give them their props. but they have lost quite a bit in the last couple of years, and some of the players remaining are starting to show some age. i don't understand either why the talking heads at ESPN are still kissing the patriots a**es. listen carefully NE fans, IT'S OVER!!! miami will unseat the pats in the AFC east in 2006
