I personally don't, however I should email your question to my best friend. She conceived one child on clomid, and has been on clomid now for about a year off and on, she could tell you alot. Would you mind if I did so?

Hi there, Im Kelsey, Amanda's best friend. I concieved my first son using clomid after a year of trying naturally. I concieved him on 50mg. of clomid (lowest dose). He is now two and we have been trying to concieve again for the past 20 months. I have been on 150mg of clomid for the past year, solid. As far as side effects of the clomid, it gives me headaches, and it is known to dry up your cervical fluid, which is needed to keep sperm alive. If you take it, just make sure it is monitored, (ultrasound, progesterone bloodwork, things like that). I go to a RE so I take the clomid on day three through seven of my cycle, day one being the first day of your period. I then go in for a cycle day 14 u/s to check the size of the follicles. It usually gives me three to four good size follies and I think ideally, they want for them to be over 20mm in size. They then give me a trigger shot of hCG, which they might not do for you, but that just helps with ripening the follicles and help to release them. You are supposed to start having sex that night, and every other night, or everynight, depending on what your doctor says. I have IUI's(intrauterine insemination) done, which helps with your chances, so you might ask your doctor about that too. And then you just wait. Wait for your pregnancy test. They say that if clomid doens't work in the first six months, then it's not going to work at all. This varies from doctor to doctor, and my RE has had me on it for the past year, and we are now moving onto IVF. Well, if you have anymore questions, or if I left something out, let me know, I would be glad to answer it for you. Here is a website that is also very helpful: www.ovusoft.com and click on the message forums. There is TONS of info there and the ladies are very nice and all know what they are talking about. Good luck.
Kelsey

I am currently on my 12th cycle of clomid--it is safe to do that many cycles although many women mistakenly believe it is not. Just be sure to have monitoring and ultrasounds done to make sure cysts aren't forming. I've only ovulated 5 times and haven't gotten pg yet. I have done every dose from 50mg to 250mg and the side effects really didn't get any worse with the higher dose. Good luck to you!!
