Who would you cast for Stephen King's Dark Tower series?

I think a REAL movie would be good just not a Made for TV deal 9even though the stand was o.k.). Lets say Spielberg and Lucas do it...

Shawshank Redemption, Stand by me, and the Running Man were not "butchered".

This series was not Steven King's finest moment. The original Dark Tower book was good, but it just went on and on and on and on, and then on some more. The best part after the original was the last chapter of the last book - now, that was a surprise! It should NOT be made into a movie. For the most part, with a couple of exceptions, all they do is butcher the story. The worst was probably the original butchering of The Shining - God was that movie horrible! Even King didn't like it.

I don't think King will ever sell the rights for these movies to be made. I'd still watch them but don't think they should be made because they'd be butchered. The only SK movie that came out the way it was meant to was The Green Mile. The Shining was a great movie, but wasn't very faithful to the book, which is why SK hated it.

I love the Dark Tower series and while I'd love to see it made into a movie, I, too,am afraid that it might be ruined. Look what the movie industry did to Frank Herbert's Dune.

I wouldn't want them to make a movie out of the Dark Tower series. They'd mangle it just like all his books have been mangled.
