I took my family many times to Lake Conroe.
Now they are grown and they are taking their own families there, and so far, we haven't lost anyone. Lake Conroe is as safe as any other lake, but as with all water, use your head

I used to go to Lake Conroe with family but then we stopped going because it was no longer safe. I don't know if it is still the same, I haven't been there since the early 2000's, but when I went there was no lifeguard on duty and people kept drowning every couple of months.

It's a beautiful lake! Largest man made lake in Texas I believe. My cousins got married at a resort on the lake and it was super nice.

i go all the time. i live right down the road from there. my friends all live on the lake. they did find a huge gator close by though. they've never found one where ppl are usually swimming, skiing, boating, etc. it was in like a nearby neighborhood or something.
