a settlement conference? Is custody an issue that comes up in a settlement conference? With her past I suspect she will do nearly anything to avoid the CFI as he has the ability to subpoena her medical records. I am seeking cusody of our son, I would prefer that the CFI make that determination. Any answers?

Essentially a Psychologist who acts in the best interests of the child.

My guess is that a settlement conference is what they call arbitration/mediation by a third party to get you to come to a settlemment. If it's like mediation wher I live then anything that happens or is said in front of the mediator cannot be subpoenad into court nor can the mediatar be called to testify. The only exception is abuse. So if she has something to hide, settlement conference may be the perfect way for her to hide. Medical histories and a psych eval are usually common when the court is determining custody. You're a male, so your automatically at a disadvantage. Just remember, if you fall on hard times and someone socks it to you for custody of your child, don't wonder why. Live and let live unless your child is in real danger.


Full custody usualll just means who gets child support, where the child resides for school, and is solely responsible for decisions. It does not mean you get to say she can't see her kid.
