Well the Undertaker doesn't really wrestle that much anymore so in a way he's already retired. To an extent, I'm not knocking him I'm just saying.
The Undertaker is a locker room leader and is highly respected by all of the wrestlers and staff in the WWE. So Vince wants him around. The Undertaker is doing a lot more jobs these days for wrestlers to help get them over and to give the new guys like Kahli some credabillity. He's good for doing that,(passing the tourch and giving other wrestlers a break).
Back in the late 90's when wrestlers were going from WWF to WCW The Undertaker remained loyal to Vince McMahon and so Vince is showing his appreciation for that loyalty by allowing Taker to leave on his own terms and wrestle when he wants.
So The Undertaker will be around for as long as HE wants to be.

I think he is getting ready to leave. I agree that he will continue to make appearances, but he seems to want more time off with the family these days.

He'll probably stay around for a while and make random appearances like Foley or Hogan.
