I am extremely anemic. It makes you tired, weak, hard to sleep, loss of appetite, and headache prone.

Here are a few suggestions that work for me:

- Read food labels! Look for foods with high iron content
- Take supplements/ vitamins - I take iron supplements that cost
about $4 for 100. They can be found at any pharmacy or drug store. You don't need a prescription. Depending on how anemic you are you can take 1-3 a day, ask your Doctor.

Eat more:
- bran flakes
- broccoli
- oatmeal
-whole wheat bread
- beans
- peas
- tomato
- tofu

Get re-tested for anemia after about 6 months to see whether it is a forever problem or was just short term

Good luck!

Go to the store and get " Slow FE" it is a slow releasing iron supplement, also increase your Broccoli spinach and red meat intake, Trust me Being Anemic is nothing to play around with. You could get very tired, muscle cramps and you will feel more light headed than usual. I wouldn't disregard having this news. Also ask your Doctor questions. Was your level high or low? Good luck

How do you know that you are anemic? It couldn't be from going to a doctor because he would have told you what to eat.

If you have iron-deficient anemia you should take an iron suppliment along with vitamin C at the same time. You should also eat liver and beef.

You probably mean "anemic". Which means lack of red blood cells. The usual cause is low iron. There can be other causes. Iron pills and spinach are the usual treatments. It's nothing to fool around with. Get to a doctor.

Start by eating iron rich foods, such as green veggies (broccoli, collard greens, etc). Cereals also are rich in iron. Iron supplements also help. The best way to absorb iron is to take the iron pill on an empty stomach w/ orange juice

If you are anemik it does not mean you are not eating healthy. It means your body is not metabbolizing. You caould eat all you want. If your body does not metabolize eating would not help.. You need medical attention. Like vitamin B injections.
