You will become hypothyroid. From a practical point of you this means you will become very tired, you will gain weight, feel cold all the time, your skin complexion will become pale, your voice may become hoarse, many people find that they can't think as fast and hypothyroid people are also more prone to depression. There are a lot of other associated problems as well, but the list is too long to go into in great detail.
Basically - don't stop. It's REALLY not a good idea.
If you're not feeling well on the meds it's possible you are being overtreated with thyroxine which can also cause unpleasant symptoms. It's very important to get the balance. If you don't trust your current doc find another one who can monitor your treatment a bit better, but don't stop the meds altogether.

I had my thyroid removed completely in June 2014. I was put on meds and I was okay at first taking them. Then I started to miss a day or two, next thing you know i started missing days at a time then i eventually just stopped. I also moved from SC to CA and started to feel very tired I blamed it on the whole move. I started to also feel down and sleepy, slowly gaining weight, lossing lots of hair, forget several things, my voice was horrible, blurry vision, my muscles started to cramp up. Especially the muscles in my stomach. It almost felt like i had a baby moving around. Although this hurted very bad and I had no control of stopping it. All i was able to do was breathe through it. I also started to feel very dizzy to the point where i totally blacked out. Oh and I can not forget I have been extremly cold I mean always always cold. My mood swings have been really bad. And I have not felt very romantic in the bedroom. Also with that I have also develpoed infections couple of times. Through all this my husband has been supportive however he didn t know I had stopped taking my meds. The other day I just got feed up with all of the above and I started taking my meds . Its too soon to tell you how I feel now but one thing i do hope is to lose the extra 20 pounds I carry. It s almost summer I want to start working out like I used to and feel like me again. The fun outgoing sporty me. I have 2 little girls and I owe it to them my husband but most importantly to me because i want to be healthy so my daughters can have a happy healthy mom and my husband a happy healthy wife. So please if you are considering of just stopping your meds please don t! I dont like to take my meds either but the side effects are not worth it. It only take 5 seconds to take your pill. Don t let it take a life time.

a week isn't some thing in any respect, yet six months is... and not using a thyroid one turns into "hypothyroid" and in the following it is what starts to ensue: the floor turns into dry, the hair starts to fall out. Calcium from the bones is resorbed, bowel function lessens and constipation occurs.. in the course of the second one month, the fellow starts to sense extremely drained, and this fatique retains. you could google what the thyroid does in the equipment on any of the search engines, so no matter in case your chum takes red meat thyroid (Armour) or the replace (Synthroid) lack of life comes extremely from exhaustion... both interior a year, or as long as 6 or 7... Is your chum an fool????? Or does he purely opt to die particularly Unpleasantly.................

You would become exhausted. Tired like you would not believe. You would stay cold all the time. You would gain weight. Your health would go downhill like it was on roller skates.
If you are having problems, why not consult a different doctor. There is more that one med to select from. Perhaps another would be better suited to you. If you do decide to go off med, do it gradually not cold turkey. I strongly recommend against it.

Your thyroid regulates several key hormones as well as metabolism... If you stopped taking your thyroid meds those hormones will get screwed up and your metabolish will slow down significanlty...
