My best friend, it seems like, is so much better than me! When ever I say anything only SLIGHTLY wrong, she corrects me with the precise answer. She's better at sports than me, too. Whenever I start a new activity, she does it too, and proves that she's better than me at it. We've been best friends ever since the first grade! HELP!!!

You sound very insecure. She is only better than you becaue you think she is. I stongly suspect that the only reason she remains your best friend is because you empower her. in other words every time she makes you feel bad about yourself it makes her feel better about herself.

Since your friend is obviously eating at your self esteem, i would remove myself from the friendship. Stop calling her, stop answering her and just let the friendship die. Move on.

Some best friends do that. They start competing with each other. My husband corrects the way I speak all the time and as I do him. So I don't think that is a really biggy. We just laugh at one another. Why don't you tell her how you feel and try to come to some sort of agreement on the competitions. If the correcting you really bothers you, ask her not to do it. If she is really your bestfriend, she will understand how you feel and improve on you twos relationship. If not, she is not your friend and your better off without her. Good luck.

I've known many people like this, and many are still my friends. I started realizing that the people that are "always right" are compensating for their own low self-esteem. All I do is keep that idea in mind when they correct me, and I laugh to myself when it happens. Why else do you think she follows you and does the same activities you've started? She likes you and wants to be like you. You have no reason to feel bad about yourself. Just smile to yourself when she does it, because you don't need to be correct about everything to be a good person. Just let her do her thing.

You need new friends. If she needs to be better than everyone than she has issues and it obviously affects you.Either ask her to relax or just let her go.

I agree with DarthInvader lol lol lol Besides a friend is not someone who tries to stay in competition with you. They are happy of your accomplishments and rejoice when you succeed
