Who is your favorite British artist/band, besides the 3 obviously great ones?

I just know someone's going to say "The Eagles," etc.

(they were from S. CA, not England)

Oh, well.

If you're defining the "British Invasion" as the period around the intro of the Beatles and the Stones to America, I'd have to say, the Yardbirds, where Eric Clapton started off, then add Ten Years After for Steve Winwood. In the middle years, add Cream and Genesis. If you want to expand it to the Progressive Rock era, I'd have to go with YES, Pink Floyd and Led Zepellin.

I always liked the Dave Clark 5 and the Searchers....even liked Herman's Hermits believe it or not. Others on my "like" list include Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, the Merseys, Gerry and the Pacemakers, but my absolute All-Time Favorite Group - bar none - is the Moody Blues. Finally got to see them in concert last summer and after 40 years, they've still got what it takes!
